2016 New Years Resolutions!

11:33 PM

It's 1.30am New Years Day and I thought I would share with you my New Years Resolutions while I'm laying in bed on holiday.

2015 was a year full of intentions but not enough action on my part. I would really like to make 2016 an action year. I am going to be turning 30 this year and this is like a big wake up call to me that if I want things in life I really need to stand up and get out there because life isn't going to stop and wait for me to catch up.

So 2016........this is what I plan to put into action:

My Resolutions!

1. Continue on my Dairy free eating
I have been doing really well with this since I started about a month ago and I would love to continue for 2016 and see how my health reacts to the non dairy.

2. Try to only eat Meat once a week
As most of you know I do LOVE my meat so I don't want to cut it out completely, I do however feel that I don't need to eat it for every meal like I used to. Therefore I am commiting myself to eating less of it by just having it as a treat meal maybe once a week. By having it once a week I have found that I don't miss it much and don't steer from my healthier eating path.

3. Drink more water Don't need to say much here. It needs to be done and I need to kick my butt into gear and just do it!

4. More exercise
I am thinking of buying a bicycle this year and getting out more. Maybe even starting a running routine. I am hoping that if I make it part of my daily routine I will keep it up. Fingers crossed......

5. Socialise with people more often
One thing I didn't do enough of in 2015 was catching up with people more often. I always let being busy and tired get in the way. I would love to put in some extra effort this year and get out for coffee dates, mini holidays, dinner parties etc etc. I need more people in my world so that I don't get myself into a bored rut again like last year. Also I love people and want to be around others.

6. Save for Europe
This one is a big one folks! I really need this Europe trip and soon. Not only do I need to get out and travel the world but I also need to see family I have never met and to be with the family I love and miss. Most of my family is in the UK so that is where I would like to start my travel. I have already saved a bit for it but this year I would like to work my ass off to get those savings up.  One of my dreams is to see Italy so I would love to be able to save enough to do the UK and Italy in the one trip.

7. Read more books
I love books.......like really really love books. When I am decluttering books are my weakness. I just can't throw books away I love them so much. Same goes for shopping......books are my weakness. However in 2015 I found that I didn't read as much as I wanted to. I just never made time. 2016 is my year. I have found this reading challenge which was made for 2015 but I am going to use it in 2016 and I am hoping it gets my reading juices flowing.

8. Find new hobbies
I would love to find some new hobbies. preferably outdoor ones that I can do on my own or with others. I am hoping that this year I can learn how to swim and cycle so they could be potential new hobbies. I would also love to get into photography.

9. Be more organised and decluttered
One of the first things I purchased for 2016 was a planner from Kikki K because they were having a sale and I think it will really help with all these new years resolutions I have. I can keep track of my expenses, important dates and keep all of my meal planning in the one book. I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail.......eeeeeeek!
I would also like to declutter my house and make it more organised and functional. I would also like some new furniture but the savings for Europe might outweigh that for this year at least.

10. Enjoy life
Plain and simple. I just want to get out more and enjoy nature, my family, my hobbies and just life. 2016 is going to be amazing!

11. Less technology
I check technology a LOT. This year I would like to spend less time on my mobile phone, computer and Ipad. I will be trying my hardest to blog often but not check facebook every 5 seconds or check my emails all day. This one could be a tough one but we will see how I go. I think I will enjoy life much more without a device in my hands.

12. Find myself
Like I mentioned above I am turning 30 this year and I don't feel that I have managed to find myself yet. It may take me a while longer but I would like to make 2016 a year that I try to put a lot of effort into making myself the happiest I can be and discovering who I am.

Most of my resolutions for this year are pretty simple and are totally attainable if I just get into the action of it and do something about it everyday. I am really looking forward to 2016 and I am very much in the mindset to get it all happening.

What are your 2016 resolutions??

Stay Happy and Healthy
